The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is able to provide an on-line resource for locating drug and alcohol abuse treatment programs. The Substance Abuse Treatment Facility Locator lists:
Private and public facilities that are licensed, certified, or otherwise approved for inclusion by their State substance abuse agency
Treatment facilities administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Indian Health Service and the Department of Defense.
The Substance Abuse Program Office is dedicated to the development of a comprehensive system of prevention, emergency/detoxification, and treatment services for individuals and families at risk of or affected by substance abuse; to promote their safety, well-being, and self-sufficiency. Florida ’s publicly funded Substance Abuse Program is part of The Department of Children and Families and is one of several programs located centrally in Tallahassee . In addition there are Substance Abuse and Prevention Coordinators throughout Florida , within the department’s district and regional Alcohol Abuse and Mental Health offices that can provide basic information on alcohol and other major drugs.
